Stance on issues

The Walkfar Coon Hunters membership voted to oppose any local law; state or Federal regulation that we feel might have the potential of harming or show prima-facie of doing harm to our sport or breeding program.

This club is a non political group but don’t mind fighting a political endangerment issue. When the anti’s and animal rights fanatics wanted to make every person in the State of North Carolina neuter or spay his or her dog and force them to do so with differential licensing, and put an extra tax on pet food, Cat Fanciers, dog breeders, coon hunters, bear hunters, fox hunters got up in arms joined forces and said enough is enough. our club was proud to have been one of those that said enough is enough.

Say NO to PAWS SB1139 / HR2669 the Pet Animal Welfare Statute. When AKC jumped in bed with some well known Animal Rights groups trying to get the bill passed a light came on in the forest. Such strange bedfellows they make, one helping the other to get their spoon greased. It is well known what some of these bedfellows have stood for in the past. Some of them are anti hunters, and would like to do away with all breeding and do away with your rights to be a responsible animal owner. I want to thank Cindy Cook and UKC for opposing this bill and being our friends. The light that went off in the forest was a danger light. If you are not on record of opposing the Paws bill you can do so by clicking on SAOVA and emailing your congressman, the Walkfar club did.
